School Tours

Fall Farm Tours At Birtch Farms

Each year we host many tours from a five-county area. This program has been created for the preschool to grade four level.

Please call or email the farm during summer or fall to make your reservations. Early booking will ensure your choice of dates.

The Apple Tour includes:

wagon tour of the orchards
tour of cold storage, processing, retail and cider mill facilities
comprehensive teaching about the stages of apple farming from growth to market
an apple picked by each student, a sample of fresh pasteurized apple cider, a jug of cider or a 1/4 bu. of apples to take to the class
an activity sheet for each child.

The Pumpkin Tour Includes:

wagon tour of the farm, visiting the pumpkin patch & fields of fall crops
comprehensive teaching about the stages of crop production from seed to the market
tour of the barns
mini pumpkin or gourd for each student
a sample of fresh apple cider
a large pumpkin for each class
an activity sheet for each child.
